Cambridge Early Music Concerts 2007

CONCERT SERIES 2007 Concert 8

THE FAM'D ITALIAN MASTERS

The Parley of Instruments dir. Peter Holman with Philippa Hyde (soprano)

8.00pm, Wednesday 1 August, 2007
Emmanuel United Reformed Church, Trumpington St
This concert features the silvery-voiced Philippa Hyde singing solo motets, including Handel's recently-discovered Gloria, and The Parley of Instruments playing trio sonatas by Corelli, Stradella, Bassani, and Alessandro Scarlatti. Few groups harbour as much expertise in their chosen field as The Parley of Instruments, "dazzling exponents" of consort music, who play "as if for the joy of it".
Concert generously supported by the Early Music Network with funds from Arts Council England.
