A WELL-TEMPERED CLAVICHORD
12.00 noon, Saturday 16 October, 2010
Trinity College, Frazer Room
A lunchtime concert given by a leading light in the young generation of
keyboard virtuosi. Acclaimed by Hans von Bülow as "the Old Testament of
the piano repertory", Bach's Wohltemperirte Clavier is the cornerstone of all
keyboard music. This recital will explore Book 2 of this epic collection,
together with complementary works by other composers who inspired
Bach. Julian Perkins's riveting performance of Preludes and Fugues from
Book 1 of the Wohltemperirte Clavier in 2009 was a sell-out, and with good
reason! If you were one of those who had to be turned away, don't miss
this opportunity to hear the astonishing clavichord in the hands of a master.
Book your tickets early.
There will be a pre-concert talk, for Friends of Cambridge Early Music only, by Prof Peter Holman,
at 11.00am in Trinity College Junior Parlour.
