Cambridge Early Music Concerts 2011

BACH AND WEISS

Jakob Lindberg (lute)

3.00pm, Sunday 8 May, 2011

Jakob Lindberg needs little introduction as one of the finest lutenists in the world today. Continuing his series of exquisite lute recitals for Cambridge Early Music, Jakob now turns to the giants of the Baroque lute repertoire: Sylvius Leopold Weiss "who excelled so greatly on the lute that he never had an equal", and his exact contemporary, J.S. Bach.
The programme includes Bach's Suite in G minor, BWV 995, and Prelude, Fugue and Allegro in E flat, BWV 998; and Weiss's Tombeau de M Comte de Logy and late sonatas from the Dresden MS.
Tea will be served in the interval.
