Johannes Ciconia is regarded as one of the most intriguing musical personalities of the period immediately preceding the age of Dufay,
as well as the first Northern European musician to have made a successful musical career in Italy at the dawn of the Renaissance.
This programme leads the listener through the known or surmised stations of the composer's life. La Morra recorded the complete secular
works of Ciconia for the 600th anniversary of the composer's death. The recording has won high critical acclaim, being awarded the
Diapason D'Or, the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik and a nomination for the Gramophone Awards 2012.
